What is it ?
Fillers (hyaluronic acid, "fillers") are the approved and health-safe materials created on the basis of hyaluronic acid, which is normally contained in the human body. This acid has the property of attracting water molecules and holding them, which is why it has the effect of filling the areas where it is injected. They can be placed to fill wrinkles on the face, increase and shape lips and cheekbones, fill various defects on the body.

Who is a suitable candidate for the use of fillers?
Men and women of all ages. Older people may want rejuvenation, and in young patients, the procedure results in a freshening of the face. Sometimes fillers cannot achieve the effect desired by the patient. In these cases, it is necessary to combine them with surgical intervention - brow lift or face lift or lips augmentation. A few words about the types of fillers:
All approved materials are based on hyaluronic acid, which is resorbed after a different period of time (from 6 months to 1-2 years) and patients must repeat the procedure. It is believed that after 2-3 procedures the effect remains permanent. Resorption depends on the type of filler and also on the individual characteristics of the body. Trade names vary depending on the manufacturer – Juvederm Ultra (www.juvedermultra.co.uk), Surgiderm (www.surgiderm.co.uk), Stylage (www.vivacy.fr), Restilyne (www.restylane.com) and others. Each product is placed in a ready sterile syringe. Hyaluronic acid has different densities, and depending on the depth of the wrinkles, the doctor selects the material.
The choice is rich, but Dr. Zayakova prefers to work with Juvederm Ultra fillers. However, if you prefer a filler from other companies, she will accommodate you.
What is the procedure?
It is performed under local or contact anesthesia. Its duration is no less than 15-20 minutes. The placement of the material is done with a very fine needle. There is usually no pain or if there is it is very mild. In 24-48 hours, the swelling that occurs after the injection subsides. Sometimes there may be slight bruising, which usually occurs if your vessels are more fragile.
A stay in a healthcare facility is not required.
A patient who has undergone such a manipulation can immediately return to his usual work if he feels ready for it.
Are there any risks?
All surgical interventions carry risk, and plastic surgery is no exception. Serious complications are not common when the manipulation is done by a qualified plastic surgeon.
Usually, after such an intervention, patients experience swelling in the injected area. These complaints subside within 24-48 hours.
