NECK LIFTING

What is it ?

Over time from sun exposure, stress and aging, the skin and subcutaneous structures lose elasticity and sag. The purpose of the neclift is to lift the sagging tissues in the neck area, under the beard, in which the patient's appearance becomes fresh and more youthful. In a short time you provide yourself with an easy and simple way to look younger and more beautiful. Neck surgery is also performed to achieve a more pleasing profile. These results are even better when combined with other rejuvenating procedures: facelift, liposuction, fillers, Botox. However, lifting does not stop the aging process, but removes its visible signs.

What can be achieved with a neck lift (non-clift)?

Neclift will help change your look. It is most effective for patients who wish to correct:

  • Sagging skin in the neck area
  • Double chin from accumulated fatty tissue
  • A combination of sagging skin and a double chin from accumulated fat
  • Bad profile

Who is a suitable candidate for a neck lift?

The best candidates for a neck lift are:

  • Women and men who wish to correct one or more of the problems described above
  • You must be healthy
  • Have good skin tone and elasticity
  • Have realistic ideas about the operation
  • Being motivated for the operation, and not proceeding to it under someone else's influence

Usually the age limit is over 40 years, but in some cases changes can occur in younger people, giving them a look that does not correspond to their years. In these cases, the procedure is also performed under the age of 40.

What is the operation?

The operation can be performed under local or general anesthesia. Its duration is 1 or 2 hours, depending on the technique. The incision is made under and behind the ear, or in front of it when the procedure is combined with a facelift. The skin of the neck is prepared and the underlying tissues (SMAS, muscles) are lifted and fixed in a higher position, then the excess skin is removed. The final scar is almost imperceptible, and the one in the hairy part is not visible. In some cases, an additional incision is made under the chin to better shape the neck. Drains are not always placed. A compression bandage is applied. A 24-hour hospital stay is required if you have had general anesthesia.
The procedure can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures such as a facelift, liposuction or a chin implant to further improving the appearance of the face. Liposuction is done through small incisions hidden behind the ear and contributes to a new, more pleasant appearance of the neck and jawline.

What to expect after the operation?

The very next day the drains are removed. After 48 hours, the head can be washed without any worries. The bandage is removed and an elastic band is put on you, which you should wear for at least 2-3 weeks. There may be swelling and bruising, a feeling of tension, stretching, which subsides in about 10-15 days. Usually, after such an intervention, patients experience numbness in the incision line. The restoration of sensitivity takes several months. The sutures are removed every 5-10 days. Camouflage cosmetics can be used.
A patient who has undergone such an operation can return to work after 10-15 days if he feels ready for it. Sports should be postponed for a month.

How long-lasting is the effect of otoplasty?

The results of this surgery are not permanent. You can also wish for other procedures after 5 or 10 years. But on the other hand, the results are permanent: years later, your neck will continue to look better than if you didn't have a cleft.

Are there any risks?

All surgical interventions carry risk, and plastic surgery is no exception. Serious complications are not common when the surgery is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon. Possible complications are: bleeding, infection, prolonged swelling, loss of sensation, etc. These risks are more likely for smokers. Doctor Zayakova will discuss the risks with you before the operation.
Revision surgery: It is performed after a complication or an unsatisfactory aesthetic result. The incisions are made along the old scars. Recovery is faster and easier.
