What is the operation?
The operation can be done under local or general anesthesia. Its duration is no less than two hours. The incision is made in the hairy part of the head. The skin is lifted and the excess is removed. The final scar is not visible. It remains in the hair area.
A compression bandage is made. A 24-hour stay in a healthcare facility is required if you have had a general anaesthetic. The endoscopic technique is possible in cases where there is no excess skin.
What to expect after the operation?
The very next day the bandage is changed. After 48 hours, the head can be washed without any worries. The bandage is removed and an elastic band is put on you, which you should wear for at least 2-3 weeks. There may be swelling and bruising, a feeling of tension, stretching, which subsides in about 10-15 days. Usually, after such an intervention, patients experience numbness in the incision line. The restoration of sensitivity takes several months. The sutures are removed every 5-10 days. Camouflage cosmetics can be used.
A patient who has undergone such an operation can return to work after 10-15 days if he feels ready for it. Sports should be postponed for a month.
How long-lasting is the effect of a forehead lift?
The results of this surgery are not permanent. You can also wish for other procedures after 5 or 10 years. But on the other hand, the results are permanent: years later, your face will continue to look better than if you didn't have a facelift.
Are there any risks?
All surgical interventions carry risk and plastic surgery is no exception. Serious complications are not common when the operation is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon.
